Beijing Capital Airlines (Previously known as Deer Air) - A320 Captains (Guangzhou and Beijing).
Beijing Capital Airlines' headquarters are based at Beijing Capital International Airport. Launched in November 2006, Beijing Capital Airlines is the only corporate and leisure charter flight operator in China and is the only Asian member of the International Air Carrier Association (IACA). Currently the airline operates 21 x A320 aircraft, its network covers 30 domestic and some international charters. The airline plans to introduce a further 11 aircraft to its fleet in 2010. Beijing Capital Airlines currently has a small number of expatriate pilots but hopes to significantly increase this number.

OK Air - B737 EFIS or NG Captains (Beijing or Tianjin).
Ok Airways was the first private airline in China and currently has 11 passenger and cargo aircrafts, and has transported 3.3 million passengers and 58 tonnes of cargo since it was launched in March 2005. Their plan is to have a fleet of 40 B737s by 2015 and 10 MA60s by 2013. Rishworth Aviation has been supplying OK Air with pilots since 2006, and with new deliveries in the pipeline, the airline is looking in good shape for expansion.

Shanghai Airlines - B737NG Captains (Shanghai).
Shanghai Airlines is one of China's leading carriers. Established in 1985 operating domestic services, the airline launched international flights in 1997 and freighter services in 2004. The airline operates to over 140 domestic and 11 international and regional destinations, including Japan, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand and Hong Kong / Macau. The airline currently operates a fleet of 47 aircrafts, including B737-7/800, B757, B767, CRJ 200, and MD11. Orders have also been placed for 34 aircrafts, including A320, B737NG and B787 types. Yangtze River Express - B744 Captains & First Officers (Shanghai).
Based in Shanghai, Yangtze River Express was established on 15 January 2003 as the second cargo airline in the country. The airline's fleet currently consists of 3 xB737-300F, 3 x B737-300QC, 3 x B747-400 aircraft, with planned additions to the B744 fleet and a resulting expanding network which currently includes domestic and international cargo operations from Shanghai to Europe and USA.

Tianjin (TSN) is fast growing as one of the most important hubs for airfreight in China, and its geographic location as the gateway to Beijing will provide a great opportunity for Grandstar Cargo's future development. The airline has branches in Europe and Shanghai and plans to expand to major cities around the world in the future. Beijing Capital Airlines (previously known as 'Deer Air') Pilot's View |

 |
"I joined Rishworth Aviation (RAL) with Deer Air in December 2008. Deer Air is a high growth carrier within the larger Hainan Airline Group. Hainan Airlines is the 4th largest airline in China. The Chinese pilots here are clearly some of the best in the world. Our First Officers are very professional, well trained and fly to perfection. Our schedules are efficient and do not include any nights away from base. This is truly a Captain's Airline. Both Deer Air and RAL have been outstanding to the foreign contract pilots here. RAL has a very effective Management Team in China to ensure unrivalled service to both the Pilots and the Airline." Captain Billy Broyles, Deer Air Pilot (A320)

"I am currently a Captain on the Airbus 319 working for Deer Airlines living in Sanya, China. Before coming to China, I was apprehensive about what it would be like to live in another country and take up a foreign airline job. From the guidance of the Foreign Chief Pilot, to the welcome dinner from the Chairman of the airline, it is refreshing to be treated as a professional and with respect. Since arriving in China, I have found the people at Deer Airlines to be very friendly and helpful. When it came time to move to Sanya, Jim from RAL was a tremendous help on getting me set up in an apartment and making sure he was available to help me if I had any problems.
Flying the line has been easier than anticipated with the English speaking cockpit crews and ATC. The cabin crews are young and enthusiastic with good attitudes that are hard to find in the United States. The 6-week-on 2-week-off schedule is very flexible, so the ability to go back home or travel is at your leisure. Overall, working for Deer Air has been a very positive experience. I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a new adventure." Captain Christiane Friedl, Deer Air Pilot (A320)

The Chinese Aviation Industry |
 |
|
 |
In 2002, China's government merged the nine largest Chinese airlines into three regional groups based in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, respectively: Air China, China Eastern Airlines, and China Southern Airlines.

By 2005, these three had been joined by six other major airlines: Hainan Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, Shandong Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, and Sichuan Airlines. Together, the airlines had a combined fleet of approximately 860 aircraft. The total number of planes of all mainland Chinese carriers combined will be near 1,580 by 2010, up from 863 in 2006. By 2025, the figure is estimated to be 4,000.

In 2007, China had 467 airports. Of China's major airports, Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK), located 27 km northeast of central Beijing, has the greatest flow of passengers annually. Shanghai has the 3rd largest amount of air traffic in China through its two airports combined.

China is served both by numerous major international flights to most countries in the world and a host of domestic regional airlines. Air traffic within mainland China is often connected through Beijing, Shanghai or Guangzhou.
